CITIES - sculptures and land art

Zwijndrecht Discoid Form 3

In 1971 I photographed my sculpture, discoid form (1), when it was still a polyester version. This was next to my studio, on the riverbank, across from the Dordtse Dom, the old cathedral of Dordrecht. At that time I could not have imagined that, together with the Dutch Sculpto's Association, in 1996 I would realize an international sculpture park along the riverbanks of the three-river-junction in the Drechtsteden in Holland - and that a bronze version of the third stage of my discoid form series would be installed on this most attractive location of the low countries. Open Air Museum (OPAM), Sculpture Park Drecht Banks (Beeldenpark Drechtoevers) has added to the cultural interest of this part of the Netherlands.
