Zwijndrecht monolinears

Lucien den Arend actually preferred asphalt in favor of the cobblestones. The black asphalt would contrast more with the cool stainless steel. A few years later when youth from the neighborhood started to use the cobblestones as ammunition, the principal of the school telephoned the sculptor asking him if it would be possible to replace the cobblestones with undulating asphalt...
