CITIES - sculptures and land art

Spijkenisse

The new task of a site specific sculpture.

Spijkenisse Holland - pink sculpture site specific and public sculpture) in Spijkenisse.

1983-86 - coated steel - 2.2.3D - Ø50cm 2400x550x697cm - Groenekruisweg/Sportlaan, Spijkenisse NL

With the emerging shopping center with signs, logo's and other commercial icons competing for attention, the sculpture received a new challenge. Where the site specificity was formerly related to green grass and trees padded with bushes, it now had to become even more specific.

It was serendipity that one of the people in the the Breast Cancer Month working group of Spijkenisse had an idea.
