three trees at Groeneveld

Lucien den Arend chose this location not only because of its length. Aside from the strong perspective of the rows of trees - the small rise which can be seen in the distance, between the left trees, appealed to him. The three oaks there evoke Rembrandt's etching three trees of 1643.
