URBAN LAND ART - a concept for a park in Finland
Land Art in the urban environment

Elaborating on the triangular shape: why not use it as an entrance to the new park, which could have the shape of an ellipse - the long axis being a promenade, one kilometer long. Steps would descend into the water at both ends.
An elliptical urban island - with a grand promenade - the two focal points of the ellipse marked with vertical masts - one hundred meters tall each. They would visualize the width promenade from a distance and at the same time denote the extent of the park from afar. At night thin shafts of light could project into the sky from the their apex.
The monumental triangular horizontal plane would serve as a bridge onto the island; its sheer format would make it into a sort of open piazza, which we could not call a square. The converging sides would affect the perspective - making the size of the plane look even larger. >>
