SCULPTOR AT WORK

grinding my Gemini tango sculpture
Grinding Gemini tango which had just been assembled - Zwijndrecht, Holland.

Here you can see how the sculpture was assembled. I think a sculptor should always work on his pieces. It's alright to have your works made in factories or by artisans - especially when the scale gets to be above our possibilities; but you should never leave it all to others. It will always be visible. The part that took most of my time to figure out the detailing was the very top. A professional welder will weld it shut. I opened it up - showing the angle between the two conical parts.
