Brenda, the bronze sculpture
for Amsterdam was transported back to my
studio for the finishing work of grinding, filing and giving it a
patina.
During the casting process the actual plaster model dropped
out of the crane and was lost. But this happened to be a good thing
because it presented me with a solution which should have been the way
to go from the beginning. I decided to use the top negative mold and
have it covered with a 20 mm layer of wax before making the second sand
block. The result is that the sculpture's thickness is 20 mm throughout
its surface.
