STUDIOS

My first studio, I suppose, was improvised in the back of our house around 1959 in Artesia California.
Carving a palm tree in 1959 in Artesia California.

My first "studio" was improvised in the back of our house around 1959 in Artesia California. The public works department of Artesia was cutting down full grown palm trees on 183d street, not too far away from our house. I asked my father to try and get me one of them. He did and the workers were happy with the request and offered to drop them all in the back of our house. One was enough.
