Arch a sculpture near Rotterdam in old Rhoon

"Arch" a sculpture near Rotterdam in old Rhoon (Albrandswaard).
The dormant monumental sculpture claims its space. photo©Jo Polak

After having been removed and exiled for three years from this same site by a former Board of Mayor and Aldermen, in 2008, the sculpture returned to become a landmark in the flat and semi urban polder landscape of Holland. Just south of Rotterdam a new Climatic Buffer Zone (Zone IJsselmonde) is being built in the new municipality of Albrandswaard. This used to be the historic town of Rhoon. But for a few decades the towns of Poortugaal an Rhoon have been combined and have been renamed Alblasserwaard.
