MONUMENTS AND GRAVESTONES

On June 5, 1996 Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands spent the afternoon in the sculpture park along the riverside of the town of Zwijndrecht in Holland. Halfway the sculpture promenade we arrived at the Noordpark location where a crane was waiting with the "Beatrix Tree" which she officially planted, marking the opening of the sculpture park. A text, inscribed on a horizontal stone surface, marks this moment and encircles the tree.
Two decades later the board of the sculpture park had the stone removed and moved it to a a nearby location repositioning it on a slanted frame.
