Land art and site specific sculpture - land art uses the environment and its scale as its material. Concrete art is expressed in material itself with which the artist introduces her non-representational objective. Public art can be viewed and accessed by observers.

Vrijthof competition

Maastricht The Netherlands

1971
- concrete, water, meandering dike, fruit trees, and Linden trees (Tilia Europea)

the Vrijthof slopes up to the Saint Servaes Cathedral giving the effect that the water plane itself is tipped towards the cathedral - on the upper side the water(film) level is a half meter below the pavement - while farthest from the Saint Servaes it is raised fifty centimeters above the level of the square

(a Maastricht architect won the competition)
