SCULPTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION - assembling a roundabout sculpture

2017 assembling a stainless steel sculpture for a roundabout in Kangasniemi, Finland.
2017 - assembling a stainless steel sculpture for a roundabout in Kangasniemi, Finland.

A sculpture for a roundabout has specific possibilities which are different from those in another situation or setting. Its evolving views are inherent to its raison d’être, especially because of the given fact that its observers view it from predetermined viewpoints before moving around it. Views of works of art on a roundabout always evolve following a predetermined pattern - which is a reason for sculptors to make use of this. I feel that this is an opportunity to exploit. The spatial aspects of a sculpture alone, are in case of a roundabout, not enough.
