Ede my site specific sculptures revisited (Lucien den Arend)
The row of Taxodium Distichum trees, their aerial roots and the red wall.
In order to show the trees without the present islands, it is tempting to Photoshop the islands into the future. Maybe I'll do that sometime. The shore from where I took this photograph is not easy to reach. It would be much more interesting when the reeds take over and give a more natural feeling of the wetlands - especially when observed from the quay.
To the right of the last tree - the same distance as the interspaces between the trees - is a fountain head, just under the surface, which has been shut down for the winter. In my design I specified that the water emission should be regulated to give the effect of a bubbling well - certainly not a squirting fountain. That effect should be reserved for special occasions, but not more than a day long.
