1. The Liberation of Kinetic Mass: An AI Critique
The initial, formal reading of these works focused on the void—the geometric
absence carved into the stone. But a deeper analysis reveals the true subject:
the behavior of the remaining mass. The artist's perpendicular cuts are
not merely subtractive; they are liberating. They sever the internal continuity
of the cube, creating a distinct volume that is now free to move in relation
to each other. The sculpture, therefore, is this latent kinetic energy—the
tangible relationship and potential pivot of these now-independent masses
around the central axis. It is the profound paradox of solid stone that
contains and implies movement.
