Land art and site specific sculpture - land art uses the environment and its scale as its material. Concrete art is expressed in material itself with which the artist introduces her non-representational objective. Public art can be viewed and accessed by observers.

Land Art 2000-2002

Land art in Walburg - protecting the shoreline by baiding fascine fencing.
Land art - Walburg/Volgerlanden projects merged -  the cross-shaped island is taking shape.

Making land art in Holland means working with the land of which a large portion is below sea-level. The pumping stations maintain an agreed upon water level in the polders - too much and there is flooding and too little will make the peat dry out and lose volume, which will lower the ground level even further. So wherever you dig there will be water; that is what I like to make use of - but within limits because of the Earth Removal Act.
