Land art and site specific sculpture in the urban setting. Environmental sculpture is an art form which uses the environment as its material. Concrete art is, like any art form, human made and is therefore geometric in essence. Public art is art which can be viewed and accessed by the public.

URBAN LAND ART

If Land Art has everything to do with the land and the natural setting, why do we get to see land art which is called "urban land art"? Don't the words "land" and "urban" contradict each other? Yes they do! But that is just the thing which makes it interesting for me to put my finger on that particular discrepancy.

In some cases my urban land art brings an element of the natural situation of the original land back into the urban setting in which practically every remnant of the original landscape has been eradicated.

The above urban land art project, I have reintroduced the historical situation of the wetlands which covered this area in Holland hundreds of years ago. My contribution was to reorder the natural materials. In doing so I used the reasoning which goes into the planning of the urban space.
