After this site being online for a few months the company in question wrote an e-mail demanding that their name be removed from these pages by April 5th 2004 - the question remains as to the legality of their e-mail, because the company itself (see their own text) only accepts orders by fax

all names, telephone numbers and other revealing information pertaining to the actual company and/or its representatives have been changed

'skilled excavators and technicians take care to assure you of minimal damage to your garden' says the text on the company-folder advocating their geothermic heating system. What this company does not say beforehand is that the client is obliged to hire his own excavating contractor and is himself responsible for the results as well as for the successful functioning of the system afterwards.

Indeed, the maalämpö (geothermic heating) company never touched our gardens.

summer of 2003 Penttilä (not the first World War) - trenches for 1200 meters of geothermic heating tubes

Building activities in Finland can take twice as long as agreed upon; the front of the house is being enlarged to accommodate the technical utilities such as the geothermic heating unit. The contract with NoName was made during the summer and things looked quite positive. The unit could be installed with convectors in the various rooms. Our family of five would be assured of a warm winter.

The offer that this company had presented to us stated that the purchase of the convectors was not included and would be the responsibility of the client. So we ordered them from the company. They did not inform us however that it is customary in Finland for the plumbing company to order these and not the client. In fact, they eagerly took our order.

November 19th 2003, our architect presented the contracts with the various contractors to us. In the plumbing contract we read that the plumber had included them in his price. This is where this story starts........"
