2000 | 2002 - continuation of the Walburg project into the Volgerlanden - island x-ing

Before the water was allowed to rise again, the shoreline was protected by intertwining willow branches - the traditional Dutch method of protecting the land from the forces of the water. The pollard willows Lucien den Arend utilized in the Walburg project are the type which supply these branches.
