ENVIRONMENTAL ART as OBJET TROUVÉ

Found art, or objet trouvé Rembrandt in Flanders - environmental art "Roeselare Round"
Rembrandt in Flanders (Rembrandt in Vlaanderen) in Roeselare, Belgium 24|10|2009 -  50°55'5.08"N  3° 7'32.17"E
For me the Belgian rural landscape seems like it used to be in Holland before the land reallocation (ruilverkaveling) in the middle of the last century. That is why I think that Rembrandt van Rijn would feel much more at home in Flanders, if he were alive today. These willows reminded me of some of his etchings and drawings of rural scenes around Amsterdam at that time. In 2002 I made a Land Art project as a tribute to Rembrandt, trajectory for Rembrandt an array of willow trees, in relation to three oak trees at Groeneveld Casle in Baarn, The Netherlands.
