CITIES - sculptures and land art

Dordrecht

The garden, enclosed by the U-shaped museum building and containing mature plane and beech trees, became more than a setting for objects. As a child I had built small shelters from willow branches and reeds near wetlands, and here I could construct a work directly from the site itself — a living form rather than a placed sculpture. The circle stood newly planted in the grass, modest and almost diagrammatic, but already dependent on time rather than fabrication.
