CITIES - sculptures and land art

Beemster

In 1987 a sculpture exhibition took place in the Beemster Polder in North Holland. Lucien den Arend had been invited to participate. The roads and parcels of this polder were laid out nearly four hundred years ago as a perfect grid. The sculptor studied the polder and its history and decided to complement this mathematical system.
