Hazerswoude Dorp

The town of Hazerswoude in The Netherlands commissioned Lucien den Arend to make a proposal for an urban environment - an environmental sculpture for the renovated public square. His first proposal was a literal oasis - a square pond with twenty four swamp cypresses (taxodium distichum) growing in the water. The diagonals were accentuated with red concrete walls.
