Der Ring Alzey-Weinheim

Land Art "Der Ring" in Alzey-Weinheim, Germany.
Der Ring, a day after the Hornbeam (Carpinus Betula) tree circle was planted - 2011.

In the late summer of 2011 the town of Alzey-Weinheim in Germany organized a Land Art symposium called Europäisches Naturfestival 2011. Six artists from five European countries were selected: Anna Waszczuk - Poland, Jørn Hansen - Denmark, Lucien den Arend - Finland, Niklas Göth - Switzerland and Vincenzo Sponga and Gabriele Meneguzzi from Italy.

Because of an ever increasing strive for efficiency and taking varying elevation, exposition and slope into account, smaller plots of the vineyards have been taken out of production. We had the possibility to use some of these areas. I chose a triangular plot at the bottom of the vineyard - nearest to the village.
