Land art and site specific sculpture in the urban setting. Environmental sculpture is an art form which uses the environment as its material. Concrete art is, like any art form, human made and is therefore geometric in essence. Public art is art which can be viewed and accessed by the public.

Red & Sculptures

Nuerenberg construction - Persian red vinyl and brass.
Nürnberg construction - Persian red vinyl and brass

This floor piece was made for this specific location. Konkret Acht, from a series of ten concrete art exhibitions in Nurnberg, Germany. I proposed to use a window opening and make an elliptical floor piece which would result from an imaginary circle behind the window from its projection onto the floor, bisect it along its short axis and continuing the projection from a virtual source from above. In that way the short axis, represented by a square brass rod, would at the same time be the long axis of the second projection. The floor was a gray linoleum and I decided to use a similar material to lie flat on it. I visited a shop selling vinyl flooring material and found this Persian-red material. It gave me a subtle contrast with the old floor.
