Amsterdam, Holland - its sculpture seen from the
satellite

a satellite view of a sculpture installed on the Minervaplein in
Amsterdam May 28th 1986Princess Juliana, accompanied by her husband Prince Bernhard, unveiled the monument to Professor Dirk Durrer who had died two years earlier. For the work professor Durrer did for cardiology, he was called the godfather of cardiology. When I first heard of the possibility to submit my documentation towards being given the opportunity to make a proposal, I felt an affinity between some of the aspects of my work and the graphic images of cardiograms and isochrones for instance. This to me seemed a much better approach than another bronze bust of the man who wouldn't have felt honored by such a sculpture of himself. To see see the work from eye level click this image

I found these images of my sculptures on www.maps.google.com. Legal experts could probably tell more about who has the right to publicize these images - is it I, who's sculpture is depicted on the satellite photographs, or is it Google who owns the rights to the images? As for me, I'll wait and see. But as far as Google's maps site is concerned - I can recommend a visit to everyone - there are many services Google gives on these pages, but my biggest thrill was being able to find my sculptures.
