Linear Sculpture - Sculpture in Lines

Monolinear was my first hand-shaped linear sculpture. The stainless steel pipe segments were filled with resin and shaped by hand - that is, two men holding the pipe under a hydraulic press and fitting it on the copper tube which I had shaped to size. The sculpture is six meters wide, and could only be transported horizontally during the night when there is the least traffic in Rotterdam.

The sculpture was to be  the main element in a round inner garden of the Rotterdam-IJsselmonde Police Station. The linear movement follows the surrounding glass wall of the garden and in this way draws a sinus wave on the glass in its path.
