Linear Sculpture - Sculpture in Lines

lasso - a spiraling line through space.
1970's - oxidized steel- 150x150x73cm Ø1".

"Lasso" was one of the first sculptures making use of the spiral. Before this work I employed two dimensional curved lines exclusively, combining them in such a way as to suggest a spiraling movement. After lasso I continued exploring the area of tension between the second and the third dimension nonetheless. At the same time the continuous flow from one curve to another ceased to be a necessity.
