the means is the message
"Form cannot dictate the means. Form is only my end. The means is my message, the end is my means. Form is material. The means dictates the material. Everything is material, everything is form. Groups of molecules, and whatever else, define bodies in what we call space. There is no first dimension, there is no no second dimension, there is no third dimension. The fourth dimension is fiction. Subdivision is theory. Everything is reality. I study delineation of form, from the inside outward, transdimensionally. Readable form. Delineation of space. Scientifically."
I do not do not limit myself to specific materials or techniques. I
am concerned with conveying my message by
means of geometric construction and organization. Sometimes my work
materializes as an object, while it can also
present itself as an urban or natural environment.
I usually work for local and national governments. I create new
situations which involve the public. The realm in
which I operate lies between constructing concrete objects and totally
altering or composing new urban and natural
environments.
Scale is for me of essential importance. The work relates itself to the
human dimension and vice versa. Inasmuch as
other artists present their message through the content of their work, I
involve the observer of the work with the
interaction of lines, planes and material. My sculpture owes its
significance to this interaction. I use materials from
the surroundings - depending on the location, these materials can be
metal, stone, water, earth or plants; as long
as he is in control. Trees grow and water moves, as long as it takes
place under my direction.
My works can be found mainly in the public domain as well as in private
collections.
