Land art and site specific sculpture in the urban setting. Environmental sculpture is an art form which uses the environment as its material. Concrete art is, like any art form, human made and is therefore geometric in essence. Public art is art which can be viewed and accessed by the public.

Donald Judd (1928-1994)

Donald Judd (1928-1994)

untitled Donald Judd (1928 - 1994)

I met Donald Judd for the first time at the opening of an exhibition of Prints by Barnett Newman in the Abteiberg Museum in Mönchengladbach, Germany. He had heard that I owned some wood and steel church benches by Gerrit Rietveld and wanted to purchase one from me; I suggested we trade something for it.

We did and a year after that we met again in the van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He asked me if we could trade two more for another of his works. We did that and I drove to his place in Eichholteren Küsnacht am Rigi - Switzerland in 1988, taking my friend and colleague, Wim Smits, along with me.
