Land art and site specific sculpture - land art uses the environment and its scale as its material. Concrete art is expressed in material itself with which the artist introduces her non-representational objective. Public art can be viewed and accessed by observers.

CITIES - sculptures and land art

Rotterdam
Plantage Building

In 1986 the association of home owners of the Plantage building in Rotterdam Holland, commissioned Lucien den Arend to make a proposal for a site specific work for the entrance hall of their apartment house. He was also asked to make a scheme for the colors in the building.

This project was initiated around the time that the monumental concrete construction Homage to Oud and van Doesburg, Marconi Waltz was originating on the Rotterdam Marconi Square. These four panels actually represent the four projections of the Marconiplein sculpture.
