CITIES - sculptures and land art
Ridderkerk
The ellipse segment with its chord parallel to the south-west / north-east line (the one to the left) follows the architecture of the buildings. And, connected to create a flowing curve with the first segment, the second ellipse segment gets an orientation which dictates the direction of the grid lines along which the poplar tree rows will line up. The elliptical segments congruent to the ones from which the red main sculpture is comprised, have been combined to create a similar, but two dimensional movement on the pavement.
