This page documents site-specific public sculptures, land art, earthworks, and environmental sculpture projects by Lucien den Arend, realized in more than fifty cities in Europe and the United States since the 1970s.
The works listed here include
permanent municipal commissions, long-term loans, and documented
proposals. Each project responds directly to its urban or landscape
context and is presented with photographic documentation and contextual
notes.
My site specific sculptures and my environmental- and land art projects
have been installed in more than fifty cities in Europe and in the United
States. In addition to these permanent works, my sculptures have been on
long term loan to municipalities and other institutions.
As site
specific art interacts with its surroundings I have documented most of these
urban installations and land art projects on these pages.
Aside from the proposal designs which have been accepted, there has been a number of proposals, which didn't get realized which I find worthwhile to also mention (they've been marked as having been proposals).
