CITIES - sculptures and land art

Witterda/Erfurt

The weatherproof steel construction was never placed on the chalk cliff - a promontory near Witterda, Germany - since the county boundaries changed. Witterda became part of the county Gotha instead of Erfurt and the sculpture was installed in a city park in Erfurt. A sculpture with the title Gothic would have been appropriate for Gotha, I think. And a sculpture on a promontory always has very dramatic effect.
