CITIES - sculptures and land art

Dordrecht

I removed the lower buds and left only those at the top so the stems would develop the characteristic pollard crowns of the Dutch landscape. The intention was that the trunks would thicken and eventually close the gaps, forming an accessible interior at first and later an enclosed space of living wood. The work depended on repeated pruning — guiding growth rather than shaping matter.

The stems would develop the characteristic pollard crowns of the Dutch landscape.
