Spijkenisse

Spijkenisse Holland - pink sculpture site specific and public sculpture) in Spijkenisse.
1983-86 - coated steel - 2.2.3D - Ø50cm 2400x550x697cm - Groenekruisweg/Sportlaan, Spijkenisse NL

In 2012 the sculpture was repainted and given another color more specifically matching the new situation with a shopping mall behind it instead of trees. At that time I opted for metallic magenta. But this proved to be a color that was too sensitive to UV light so within three years the vibrancy was reduced to what we see on the photograph above. By 2019 it became evident that a change needed to be made. Since I have had good experiences with RAL 2002 - a dark vermillion - I suggested to choose for this color; it can be seen under the link below.
