SCULPTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Pollarding the willows of the PieterJanszoon Saenredam project in Barendrecht, Holland.
Pieter Janszoon Saenredam project

Willow wood is the material wooden shoes are made of. Like wooden shoes, the osier culture is a tradition which is now disappearing, and only remains as superficial knowledge of that which is known as real Dutch - like tulips and Edam cheese. It is true, on the other hand, that there are many volunteers, who maintain osiers. Here on the Saenredam Island, such volunteers help maintain the cyclic manifestation of the Saenredam project.

The Pieter Janszoon Saenredam Foundation watches over the island and the inherent intentions of the sculptor.
