SCULPTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION - installing a weatherproof steel sculpture

1981 - I am welding the temporary legs onto the sculpture.
The bottom of each piece was coated with zink compound.

 

Zink-compound paint insured that - even though the material was weatherproof steel - oxidation would be reduced to a minimum. Here you see the anchor strips split and divided to grip the concrete slab.
