SCULPTURES UNDER CONSTRUCTION - URBAN LAND ART

Here I am making the model for the acrylic water columns in my studio in Zwijndrecht.
1969-1970 - The ducts to bridge the lava field gully. Zinc chromate paint passivates their surface.

 

The angles in the pipe are inspired by the ducts I had often seen in the oil refineries area south-west of Rotterdam. The exact angles are such that the pipes enter the earth perpendicular to it. The finals coat of white is to echo the whitewashed tree trunks.
