ARCHITECTURAL SCULPTURES and PROJECTS
Grote Kerk tower project

English    Nederlands

The Tower Project - Grotekerkstorenproject and the Saint Andreas Cross as the new top.
1987-88 The Grote Kerk tower project - a twentieth century steeple - Dordrecht NL

The gaps between the clocks of the tower seem to have been made as a receptacle for this Cross of St. Andrew. At least ... that's how I have availed myself of them. The robust geometry of the perpendicular shape contrasts and complements the softer forms of the masonry and sculpted natural stone.
