Izmir, Turkey. Art trips.Izmir, Turkey photo©Lucien den Arend

The protests against the undoing by the present government of Atatürk's achievements in Turkey spread out to other cities in the country - also to Izmir. As usual less responsible elements in society think that protesting means destruction. They join the peaceful protestors and exacerbate the aims of the protests. This is one of the fires around our hotel on the evening of the first of June 2013. The aggressive elements, along with over-adventurous kids have not yet figured out the difference between creation and destruction.
