technical demands can sometimes conflict with aesthetic demands
Welding Gemini tango which had just been assembled - Zwijndrecht, Holland.

I welded seams which had been ground to a smooth surface - but not feeling like a cone should feel - straight in the radial direction and curved perpendicular to it. Technical people are used to flawless welds - even though they feel 'hilly' when you run your hand over them.
