models of site specific sculpture
I have been been making sculptures,
land art and environments since the end of the sixties. A geometric
framework
forms the basis for my sculptures. I am concerned about being able to
construct a sculpture based on this framework. The geometric and
systematic nature of my sculpture infers that every
sculpture is premeditated.
In 1969 I received my
first commission to make an environmental work. It was an enclosed garden
for the DSW plant in Dordrecht, Holland. Since then I have carried out various
site specific works. For me there is not only one approach to a project;
each site is different and has its own possibilities.
