the SCULPTOR at work

As a sculptor I have lived and worked in the United States, The Netherlands and in Finland, where I'm now setting up my own sculpture park - Penttilä Open Air Museum (POAM). My sculptures have been be installed in the fields and forest around my house and studio in Kangasniemi, Finland.

Nearby, in the municipality of Haukivuori I have been participating in setting up an international sculpture park FOAM (Finnish Open Air Museum) with sculptures by sculptors from around the world. In the summer of 2005 the first symposium took place - >> REDUCTIVE ABSTRACTION Less is more again. Six sculptors from Turkey, Bulgaria, the United States, Belgium and Holland participated and made sculptures which were presented on the grounds of FOAM and Saksala ArtRadius Art Center.

In the early seventies I became a member of the Dutch Sculptors' Association and was asked to join the board. I was twice secretary and also president of the association for a period of about fifteen years, and a member of the board for a total of twenty two years.

In 2003 my family and I moved to Finland where I have a studio next to our home in the middle of the vast forests of the Lake District. I am is now a member of the Finnish Association of Sculptors. Around my home, an old manor, his sculptures have been installed - in what used to be its gardens.
