SATELLITE SCULPTURE IMAGES

Homage to Oud and van Doesburg - perpendicular planes 1983-87 - constructed concrete sculpture, Marconiplein, Rotterdam NL

The size, light color and diagonal positioning of the concrete squares which form the construction of this site specific sculpture in Rotterdam, make it stand out on the satellite images of the Rotterdam Marconiplein, a square between Rotterdam and Schiedam, Holland. The first part of the title, Homage to Oud and van Doesburg was derived from the location itself - tot the top of the picture is Spangen where the innovative artist Theo van Doesburg and the architect J.J.P. Oud worked together on the Spangen housing project - blocks I and V.
