Weymouth RRA new road through a traditional English rural landscape presents a number of problems which can be solved responsibly. Approaching this from an artist's point of view will give unexpected results. |
Weymouth Relief Road - art in the road environmentHorstermeer pollard willow projectThe oblique angle to the roads enhance the short trips to and from the the plant. Also the views between the trees and along their rows provide a visual challenge to the motorist and passersby. Like in my experience near Sheerness and my Poplar rows in the south west of Holland, the experienced distance between the rows conflicts with the rational observation of actual space between the consecutive rows, as can be seen in the next picture.
