encounters

the plastic temporary studio of Henry Moore

It was a wonderful experience for a young sculptor like I was at the time, to see the studios and works on the location where they had been made - especially visiting in the time Henry Moore was still working there - even though he was in Portugal at that time. I planned on going back another time.

Henry Moore built this plastic temporary studio to work on the plaster model for his Lincoln Center sculpture. But he found this a perfect space to make his large sculptures in natural light, and kept it where it was.
