kunstmarkt Veerplein Zwijndrecht 1967

during the period of Gallery den Arend

Kunstmarkt Veerplein 1967 - Zwijndrecht, Holland.
Art-mart Veerplein - an art markett along the River Oude Maas on the Zwijndrecht Veerplein.

In 1967 I wanted to add something to the historic location where I had moved with my parents after having spent my youth in the United States. Two years earlier I was living near Long Beach, California and participated in an art-mart along Second Street in Belmont Shore. I went to the town hall, asked around and learned about setting something like this up. It was a pleasurable experience and the next year I organized a second one - even larger on the same location.
