CITIES - sculptures and land art

Terneuzen

Terneuzen - Zeeuws Vlaanderen NL - his site specific sculptures ordered for the city of Terneuzen in Zeeland
witte wieven - pollarded willow-ellipse - 1980|1984 - willows (Salix Alba) and white latex - GAB Terneuzen NL

The short notice had Fully surprised and bewildered me. I asked the director of the Terneuzen employment exchange, Drs. S. B. Verburg, to receive a commission for the new situation. She did request me to make a proposal. I prepared my proposal within short span of time as the demolition, as well as the building activities, were already underway. I presented the plan to her and the architect a few weeks later. After that I never received any reaction; the proposal was never accepted and payment never took place so I requested to be heard. The successor of Mrs. Verburg, E. P. H. Kerckhaert, wrote me later that I had never been ordered to make this proposal. I let it at that.
