Pieter Janszoon Saenredam Project
1997 was the 400th anniversary of the birth of Pieter JanszoonnSaenredam. It was stipulated by Lucien den Arend in the charter of the Pieter Janszoon Saenredam foundation, that every twelve and a half years the willow trunks are to be white washed to complete this cycle. The first time this coincided with the 400th anniversary.
