SCULPTURES in CITIES | PUBLIC SCULPTURE
site specific sculptures, earthworks and landscape designs realized
by the Finnish/Dutch sculptor Lucien den Arend
Dordrecht Chamber of
Commerce
In
1983 the project was realized and a mere ten years later another change to the
building caused the sculpture to be put in the public garden in back of the
building - where at first it was aligned with the axes of the architecture it is
now a random object in one of the few green areas of the old city of Dordrecht.
This garden is located on the spot
Vincent van
Gogh looked out upon when he lived in Dordrecht in 1877 before he moved to
Amsterdam. He worked at Morks & Geuze book printers in that year.
